Crostadas, those rustic pies with the edges folded over, appear in many guises, from sweet fruit to savory. Split Pea Seduction is one of the few places in town where you can get both types for a single lunch, but you'll have to brave the Sixth Street corridor to get there. Your reward: a buttery, thick, and flaky shortcrust in the three or so seasonal daily crostadas. Eat-in orders are served on swatches of butcher paper, for an Italian-countryside-meets-ghetto-SOMA touch. C. Alburger Split Pea Seduction's bacon and winter greens crostada.
Recently, we ordered an applewood bacon, winter greens, and Parmesan pie with optional soft egg on top. Starting next week, Split Pea is adding bikes to its drop-off fleet, though with free delivery granted only on orders of $35 or more, mostly corporate types will get to partake. Large orders beyond SOMA and Downtown be warned: You'll have to see if you can cut a deal. Guess that comes with the territory.
