I've been threatening to start writing about my trials and tribulations on 6
th street for some time now. Well, here it is baby. Please, come here and read about morning like this morning. Beef braise in the oven, aromatics sweating, eggs poaching,
polenta bubbling and the last of that escarole and white bean soup heating on the
stove top. Oh, and let's not forget about those cranberry-nut mini muffins baking along with that leg of lamb I boned, rubbed and trussed last night in the convection. Well, actually I did forget about the lamb due to heavy exhaustion and took it a little over but it was still fucking delicious. All of this heaven going on this morning at 7am but that's not it.
I was sure to pull my shades wide open when I got in so I could catch the show outside while I worked, and watch my car. It was the usual craziness. Let's put it this way. There is nothing like the smell of roast lamb with a tinge of 6th street grass and my first view of the daily dance party as Sam showed up on his Elephant bike, hung over from the ball game last night very unhappy to see me!
Love,
Christian
Swearing on your first blogpost? Almost as amateur as riding an elephant
